Annual Uniform and Equipment Drive

On Saturday Nov 10th, MUSC Rec Soccer will host our 11th Annual Uniform & Equipment Donation Day.

Following our last games of the 2018 season, please consider having your child donate their MUSC Rec soccer uniform & any used cleats and shin guards back to the program.  We collect, clean, sort and distribute this gear to various contacts and charities that we partner with all over the world.  All of the used gear will find a home overseas with a kid that has never worn a uniform before or played soccer with cleats on.

In the past 10 years we’ve collected enough uniforms and equipment to outfit more than 450 youth soccer teams, which equates to almost 5,500 kids in six different countries wearing recycled Morris United Rec soccer uniforms and cleats that would otherwise be stuffed in drawers or sitting in our garages!

Your donations have helped to launch an annual soccer tournament in the Philippines that has now been up and running for the past 8 years, see the attached picture.   The “Taft- Morris Cup” involves more than 200 kids over a three-day tournament, all of which receive a donated Morris United Rec Soccer uniform as part of the event.

We will have drop-off tables at Alfred Vail School, the lower FMS fields and at Central Park Field in Morris Plains. We will take uniform shirts, socks & shorts from any team, year or league. We will also collect cleats of any size & type i.e. soccer, football, lacrosse or baseball (no metal spikes).

We could use some youth volunteers throughout the day to man the tables and help sort the gear, please let me know if your child is willing to help.
