Requirements to be a Recreation Soccer Coach

 The primary requirement to be a Morris United recreation soccer coach is that you:

  1. Want to help the youth of our community learn about soccer.
  2. Are willing to grow and learn about soccer and how to teach youth about the game.
  3. Recongnize youth sports is for the benefit of the athletes and NOT the parent or coach.

Coaches and Assistant Coaches are required to complete the following before conducting a practice or coaching a game:

1.  Register as a volunteer coach using the link to the right and succesfully complete a background check.

2.  Complete the Center for Disease Control and Prevention Heads Up to Youth Sports: Online Concussion Training.  The completion certificate needs to be provided to your division director.

3.  It is recommended, but not required, that every recreation coach complete his / her coaches NJYS Youth Coaching License.   The registration fee for this course will be reimbursed by MUSC. 

4. It is recommended, but not required, that every recreation coach complete the US Center for SafeSport Training.
