MUSC Hosted Referee Certification Course

On December 8, 2019 Morris United Soccer Club will host a USSF referee "In-Person" field session at the Jean Street Field in Morris Township.  The couse is open to anyone aged 13+ interested in becoming a US Soccer Federation certified "Grass Roots" referee.

The "In-Person" Field Session is one of the mandated Steps necessary to be licensed as a "Grass Roots" referee. 

  • Step 1: Create a Profile at US Soccer Referee Learning Center ($0) : https://learning.ussoccer.com/referee/ 
  • Step 2:  Complete the US Soccer NCSI Background Check (if 18 or older) ($30) <-- Background check must be cleared before signing up for In-Person course.
  • Step 3: Register for an In-Person Course (Field Session) in the Learning Center ($130) ß This is the course being held at Jean Street Field.
  • Step 4: Complete All 4 Assignments posted in your Assignments Tab
    • Complete Online Grassroots Referee Course <-- These MUST be completed before attending the In-Person Course. You will not be admitted to the course without proof that these assignments have been completed. Bring a copy of your online training Certification of Completion to the field session
    • Complete the "Introduction to Safe and Healthy Playing" Environments
    • Complete the "Grass Roots Quiz"
    • Complete the online "SAFE SPORT CERTIFICATION" course(if 18 or older) <-- To be completed before attending the In-Person Course.
  • Step 5: Download the IFAB Laws of the Game (LOTG)
  • Step 6: Attend the In-Person Course (Field Session)

Course Time:  9:30 AM - 11:30 AM    Note: check-in opens at 9:00 AM and closes promptly at 9:29 AM.  Attendees arriving after the course start at 9:30 AM will not be admitted to the class. 

NOTE:  A "Grass Roots" referee license is NOT required to referee with the Morris United recreation soccer program, but it is highly encouraged.
